Mouth / Flavors: Supple and well-balanced attack that quickly reveals the same fruit notes as on the nose, supported by silky, dense, deep tannins that bring structure to the midpalate.
Tasting notes: The abundance of fruit on the finish is remarkable, heightened by a hint of sweetness that rounds out the wine beautifully.

Mouton Cadet Bio Rouge 2022

BARON PHILIPPE DE ROTHSCHILD

Baron Philippe de Rothschild

From Médoc... Château Mouton Rothschild sits amid 90 hectares of vineyards northwest of Bordeaux, at the edge of the Médoc peninsula.

Winegrowing dates back to the Roman Empire here, and Médoc currently has 16,500 hectares under vine.

Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild bought the Château Brane Mouton in 1853 and renamed it Château Mouton Rothschild.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Nathaniel's great-grandson, took over Château Mouton Rothschild in 1922 when he was just 20 years old. He was the first in Bordeaux to create a wine brand and renovated Château Mouton Rothschild. He also introduced the famous bottle labels illustrated by contemporary artists and the celebrated Museum of Wine in Art. His name is synonymous with prestige and the prestige of great Bordeaux wines.

In 1930, he launched Mouton Cadet to bring the wealth of the celebrated Bordeaux region to a wider audience.  Baroness Philippine de Rothschild succeeded her father, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, in the family business in 1988.

After a remarkable career in the arts—the Comédie Française in particular—she built on her father's work to become a charismatic figure in the wine world. Thanks to her dynamism and personality, she successfully expanded the family business considerably, both in France and around the world.

When Philippine de Rothschild passed away on August 22nd, 2014, the family business went to her three children: Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild.
