La Candelera 2021

White wine made with white Grenache from the LA CANDELERA farm and the laying of the first malvasia vines from the Anda Verde plot, both in the municipality of Labastida. A great wine with a lot of potential.

BODEGAS FINCA DE LA RICA

FINCA DE LA RICA

Finca de la Rica, Labastida, in the south of the province of Alava, in the El Convento plot, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa.

At the end of the 19th century, the orography of the area prevented the introduction of the railway, thereby avoiding the industrialization that took place in other Riojan areas, which led the Labastida wineries to maintain an eminently familiar character.

The Amurrio Barroeta were no exception, with Arturo and Javier Amurrio being the fourth generation of a saga of winegrowers from Alava with 39 hectares of vineyards spread over more than 30 plots throughout the municipality of Labastida.

The average age of its vines is around 45 years. With the Tempranillo variety being the predominant variety, we cannot ignore the almost centennial garnacha circles that the family treasures and the octogenarian Viura strains rooted in the Matadula estate.

The Amurrio Barroeta brothers, Luís López González and Ignacio Uruñuela de la Rica are four professionals in the sector, passionate about viticulture, wine and, most importantly, human relationships.

Very well cared for, pleasant and elegant wines, which also conquer for their fresh and fun labeling.
