TORO ALBALÁ

Toro Albalá

Bodegas Toro Albala was born in the heart of the cordovan countryside in the year 1922. Our history is the story of a small farmer, José Maria Toro Albala, who had the great idea to store wines for the creation of oenological jewels for the most demanding palates. A philosophy that knew how to implement in family values and that still remain. Considered a feat taking into account the situation of the time. But, that has earned to make the Toro Albalá at the best tables in the world.

Fine wines were the most commonly consumed in the 1930s by an Andalusian population that came to the taverns of the districts and that mostly focused on the work of the primary sector. The scenario of the winery was an old central power in the area, which yield game to jokes of the Andalusians who called that the wine had electricity or was electric, hence the famous name to the fine "electric" while still retaining up to our days.

A generational change in the 1960s at the hands of Antonio Sánchez winemaker makes the brand to take its own personality. From then on, are committed to recovering the treasures of breeding and the traditions in the world of wine. The nephew of the founder would bring the new airs of his training in European schools and the illusion of a project that has been participant since the age of six.

The legacy of this winemaker, inseparable from his glasses, is not only the creation of oenological jewels with own style but a way of understanding the culture of wine, surrounded by painting, archaeology, or literary works. All this, without forgetting the incessant aroma which leave the barrel of amontillado that accompany them.
