Así, 14 de julio 1790, la Fiesta de la Federación en el Campo de Marte, sólo Champagne se considera digno de animar a los revolucionarios. Unos años más tarde, todos los príncipes presentes en el Congreso de Viena cuentan la omnipresencia de champán de septiembre 1814 hasta junio 1815 A partir de las cenas en el Congreso disfruta. "Espíritu brillaba como el champán" y fue de hecho la primera unificación de los participantes de enlace. Champagne posteriormente pasó muchos tratados importantes y allí recientemente, el de Maastricht. Siempre es requerido por todos los que en el mundo, queremos hacer hincapié en la importancia de un momento histórico. Incluso la reina Pomare de Tahití, de acuerdo con Pierre Loti, exigió varios casos de Champagne para celebrar la consagración de un templo pagano en la isla. Símbolo de excelencia, Champagne está siempre en el lugar correcto en los menús de las grandes bodas reales últimos dos siglos. Fue grandes exposiciones universales mágicos y espectaculares de 1889 y 1900 en Bruselas y París invitado; y con el tiempo, confirmó su imagen del vino excepcional. Situación

El viñedo champañés es el vinedo lo más spetentrional de Francia, se extiende sobre los departamentos de Haute-Marne, de Aisne, de Aube y también en algunos municipios de Seine-et-Marne. 

Suelo

Los suelos están ingratos ( calcáreos en el departamento de Marne y margosos en Aube) y imponen a las raíces de las cepas arraigarse muy profundamente, a veces hasta veinte metros.

Variedades de uva

Las cepas están repartidos entre un 30% para la cepa de Pinot Noir, un 30% para la cepa de Chardonnay y un 40% para la cepa de Pinot-Meunier.
