Grandes Pagos de España (GPE)
Es una asociación de fincas vitícolas de toda España que defienden y propagan la cultura del vino de Pago, producido en un terruño específico y que refleja la personalidad inconfundible de su suelo, su subsuelo y su clima. Un concepto ancestral del vino de calidad, pero sólo rencientemente renacido en nuestro país. Históricamente, las mejores viñas han tenido una gran importancia en el vino español: ahí está la centenaria valoración de los mejores pagos de Jerez. Pero, desde el siglo XIX, con las que llamaron bodegas industriales, nuestro vino fue por otros derroteros: grandes empresas, producciones muy altas de vinos hechos con uvas ( a menudo compradas ) de varias procedencias. Desde el año 2000, un grupo de productores de vinos de pago, es decir, elaborados con sus propias uvas, de un único viñedo, de las dos Castillas se reunieron para reinvindicar la personalidad única que define a los vinos de los mejores pagos y extender su cultura, apenas renacida, por España, fundando Grandes Pagos de Castilla. Esta asociación sin ánimo de lucro se transformó en 2003 en Grandes Pagos de España para responder al interés de muchos colegas de otras zonas en dar a conocer y promover este otro concepto de calidad.
