D.O. Ribeira Sacra
En el año 1993 se aprobó el reglamento Viños da Terra, pero el despegue definitivo y progresivo no se produjo hasta 1996 con la aprobación definitiva de la Denominación de Origen. El único camino que le queda hoy a una comunidad de productores es la profesionalización de la gestión, regla sagrada para competir con acierto en los mercados.
El Consejo Regulador de Ribeira Sacra tiene tres cometidos esenciales: garantizar el origen del producto, asegurar la calidad del mismo y promocionar los vinos producidos al amparo de la D.O.
Situación
La región se extiende a lo largo de las riberas de los ríos Miño y Sil en el sur de la provincia de Lugo, y la parte norte de la de Orense. Engloba 19 municipios.
Suelo
De elevada acidez, la composición varia notablemente de unas zonas a otras. El viñedo se asienta en terrazas de fuerte inclinación y no supera los 400-500m de altitud.
Clima
Bastante variable en función de las distintas zonas. Mayor influencia continental en el valle del Sil, y mayor atlántico en el valle del Miño. La altitud también marca diferencias, siendo más cálido cuanto más próximo esté el viñedo de los ríos.
Variedades de uva
Blancas: Albariño, Loureira, Treixadura, Godello, Dona Blanca y Torrontés. Tintas: Mencía, Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha Tintorera, Tempranillo, Sousón, Caíño Tinto y Mouratón.
