Bodegas Sinforiano was set up in 1966 when Sinforiano Vaquero and Daniela Gomez decided to carry on the family tradition. From the initial beginnings of a small number of vines and an old underground cellar with concrete tanks, hard work and illusion have resulted in a vineyard that covers 70 Hectares and a modern cellar equipped with the latest technology and with a capacity of 700 tonnes of grapes.
The new generation has brought important modifications to our business whilst maintaining the family tradition. With the building of our new wine cellar, our production systems have been refined. As much in the vines as in the cellar, small reforms are regularly considered to improve the quality of our wines, while keeping a sustainable vineyard and traditional character.
Bodegas Sinforiano’s philosophy is to produce innovative wines that have personality and which are made with environmentally-friendly and sustainable viticultural methods. We want them to stand out for their distinctive, fresh, fruity style and to reflect the special terroir of the Mucientes area of Cigales.
The vineyard of Bodegas Sinforiano is situated in the village of Mucientes (Valladolid) and forms a part of the Cigales wine-producing area.
The vines are grown in the Pisuerga valley and on the hillsides of the Montes de Torozos at an altitude of 740m. The soil is deep layer of clay- limestone
The climate is continental with wide temperature ranges during both the day and throughout the year with an Atlantic influence.
The winery’s greatest asset is its vines. It is in the vineyards where our greatest efforts are made and most of our time is spent.
The vines belonging to Bodegas Sinforiano stretch over every part of the Mucientes vineyard, which is made up of a great range of soil-types, in particular limestone, clay and gravel.
The 70 hectares where the grapes are grown are currently divided into 40 set aside for goblet or bush vines whereas the remaining 130 are wire-trained. 60% of these vines are more than 60 years old.
