Balbas Wineries


Balbas Wineries was born in 1777, the year began the construction of the first underground Winery, fulfilling today almost 250-year tradition of six generations dedicated to the noble task of conceiving one of the great wines of the Ribera del Duero, Spain.


It's been more than 35 years since Balbas Wineries, together with a small group of wineries, create and constitute what we know today as the denomination of origin Ribera del Duero.


Since then have managed to combine a tradition of generations with the most modern and advanced production techniques that make our wines to show all the power, elegance and personality, features the "terroir" and good to make of one of the references wineries of this denomination of origin.

Vineyard


90 hectares of vineyards. The Tinta del País (Tempranillo) is the grape variety extended and most famous in the region, which together with the Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot gives their wine its identity.


The vineyard of Balbas Wineries extends 10 payments with own, distinct characteristics, the influence of the "terroir" defined the character of their wines.


Ageing


The wines from Balbas Wineries breeding takes place in barrels of French and American oak selected before making these, to control drying and toasting to that it provides its red wines the best space for your rest calm, unhurried, in a stable environment of temperature and light which allows each bottle to evolve to give the best of themselves.


Special importance has the finishing and polishing finish in bottle. In Balbas Wineries, they are committed to continuous improvement and differentiation in quality of the entire range of wines, without forgetting the typical characteristics of the Ribera del Duero.
