Pago Aylés

The Pago Aylés estate is not only a winery, it is a well defined territory in which nature and wine coexist in a very special way.

The project of Pago de Aylés began its journey with the purchase of the farm by the current owner, who thus reunited various properties that had belonged to the clergy and the nobility since the Middle Ages, becoming one of the three historical estates private largest of Aragon, with more than 3,100 hectares of extension with the entire perimeter fenced.

Pago Aylés Winery can say that he is a prophet in his land. The Ramón Reula family, in its determined commitment to total quality, will go down in history to set a precedent and decide to elaborate the first Vino de Pago de Aragón (10th in Spain to obtain this prestigious and exclusive appellation). With these wines, this Aragonese winery realizes an ambitious project in which it works with enthusiasm and commitment for a decade.

The human team of Aylés, aware of the exclusivity of its territory for its high ecological and landscape value, has always been clear about its horizon: to value the "perfection" of its natural resources through the production of extraordinary wines, differentiated and with its own character. And the goal has been met with the development of Vino de Pago Aylés, a wine with the highest level of quality that any Spanish winery can achieve.

In Pago Aylés they seek wine excellence from the vineyard and the elaboration, to the commercialization of their wines, in order to offer an exclusive product that is unmarked from the traditional market, satisfying the most demanding consumers.

The architectural style of marked Aragonese character and Mudejar style, permeates every corner of the winery that was opened in 2000, with a barrel park consisting of more than 500, mostly French oak.

PAGO: "It is said of a place or rural site that has its own characteristics that differentiate it and distinguish it from others in its environment and that is known by a name linked in a traditional way."

In the Spanish wine quality pyramid, the payment occupies the highest level.

Climate

Extreme weather with dry and cold winters, very changeable spring and very hot summers. In summer, the thermal difference reaches 20ºC between day and night.

Soils

Exceptional soils for the vine to be Glacis, deep, stony, but also clayey, cold and above all, very old (Tertiary, 25 million years).

Vineyard

The practice of a sustainable viticulture, in process of accreditation as an ecological vineyard, is the unmistakable hallmark of this winery that has an objective of yields adjusted to quality criteria of 34 hectoliters per hectare.

The Pago vineyard covers an area of 47 hectares of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet sauvignon y Merlot. The location of this, around the winery, allows the grape to start the production process immediately after being harvested.

The situation of the vineyard: open to the north wind, closed to the warm winds by the mountain range and protected from the last rays of sun of the day (especially in summer) by the mountain located to the west favors a vegetative cycle and of long and late maturation.
