Palacio de Bornos
Located in Rueda, the winery was born and began its elaborations in 1976, with a parallel history to that of the Rueda Denomination of Origin. The first years meant the establishment of the brand in Castilla y León, to then begin a rapid expansion at the national and international level.
Palacio de Bornos was the first to make sparkling wine in Castilla y León, since our first production rose in 1978. The objective has been to take advantage of the qualities of the Verdejo variety, part of a monovarietal base wine that provides personality and differentiating character, applying the traditional method of production, where it allows obtaining a very high quality sparkling wine.
After more than forty years of solid work and continuous innovation, with a clear commitment to the vineyard, Palacio de Bornos has become one of the most recognized brands in the D.O. Rueda, with a presence in the main markets of the five continents. And that work continues into the future.
Palacio de Bornos has 308 hectares of its own vineyard, in the towns of Rueda, Pollos and La Seca, with more than 30 years old. In the choice of plots, the quality of the soils has always prevailed, carrying out various analyzes and pits, in order to know its structure in detail and thus have the assurance that the plant will develop in the most suitable environment. . The land of our vineyards is characterized by a calcareous clayey subsoil and gravelly soil, with a high concentration of pebbles, which allows good aeration and drainage, ideal characteristics for the good development of the vine.
