The extraordinary characteristics of this brandy are the result of its raw material, a combination of the soleras of the Gran Duque de Alba brandy and the Gran Duque de Alba Oro. Excellence above excellence. A very old brandy with the complexity of nuances that only time can give.

Color and Appearance: Brandy of noble color, between old mahogany and ebony. Very bright.
Nose / Aroma: Intense nose, with hints of raisins, grape, plum, vanilla ... Reminiscences, also, of an antique furniture varnish, characteristic, without a doubt, of its long years of aging.
Mouth / Flavors: Complex and majestic on the palate resulting, at the same time, unctuous and velvety. Intense, persistent and very long aftertaste.
Recommendations: Due to its superior quality, it is recommended to consume it alone or with ice in a balloon glass.
Kind of wine: Brandy de Jerez Solera Gran Reserva Especial.
Ageing: Perfect combination between the soleras of the Gran Duque de Alba and Gran Duque de Alba Oro brandies. Final aging in American oak casks that have contained Don Guido, recognized Pedro Ximénez.
Alcohol: 40% vol.
Azúcares totales: 33 g/l.
Formats: 0,7L

WILLIAMS & HUMBERT

Williams & Humbert

The history of Bodegas Williams & Humbert goes back nearly 140 years. They participated in the creation of the Jerez-Xérès-Brandy Quality Demarcation and are now considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious wine producers.

The winery was founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great admirer and connoisseur of sherry products, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations.

Since then they have preserved part of the original wines and brandies (soleras) in high quality oak casks. These soleras are the base of the development and ageing of every sherry and brandy produced at Bodegas Williams & Humbert.

Climate

The climate of the Jerez Region is warm as a consequence of its low latitude, given that it is one of the most southern winegrowing regions in Europe.

Soils

The Albariza soil is the white soil typical of the rolling hills of the Jerez Region. Not in vain is this whiteness reflected in the very etymology of the word Albariza, whose origins lay in the Latin word “albus”, meaning “white”.

This Albariza is a soft rock formed by sediments amongst which can be found remains of diatomaceous earth, of organisms belonging to the siliceous plankton type and others of the calcareous skeletal type.

Vineyards

Soil, climate, geographical location…. there are many factors that characterize our vineyards and are determining factors in the production of such special wines as Sherry. The locations where the grapes are grown and conditions in which viticulture takes place have a powerful influence to play on these unique wines.

Añina and Carrascal are the pagos, the vineyard zones, where the 250 hectares of vineyard grown by Bodegas Williams & Humbert are located. These two pagos are both historic and emblematic in the Jerez Region and where the Las Conchas and Dos Mercedes vineyards are both to be found. Located in the Jerez Superior vineyard zone, Añina and Carrascal, each with their own individual characteristics, provide the perfect combination for growing the different grape varieties of the Jerez Region.
