Thirty Thousand Maravedíes is the price that the Castilian nobleman Don Álvaro de Luna paid for the purchase of the Señorío de San Martín de Valdeiglesias from the friars of the convent of Santa María. The figure gives its name to the wine from the town of Marañones, an excellent character of Garnacha.
